The intent of this handbook is to assist students, parents, teachers and school administrators in maintaining an environment conducive to student learning and positive behavior.

CMSD Work Permit Package

  • All parts of the permits must be completed
  • Email the permit to robyn.ballew@clevelandmetroschools.org
  • Birth Certificate or State ID/Driver License must be sent with the permit. You can scan or take a picture of the documents.

Transcript Request Link

Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) is responsible for the archiving of student permanent records of former and alumni CMSD students.

Per District policy and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), student records (graduation verifications, transcripts, immunization records, etc.) are only available to those who have authorization from the student or parent, guardian, or responsible person if the student is under 18 years of age. If the student is 18 years of age or older, school records will not be released to a parent, guardian or responsible person without the student’s written consent.  To submit a request for transcript, click the link below.

AVIATION:

  • Gain hands-on skills using our flight simulators!
  • Learn from speakers that represent the many different aspects of Aviation, including air traffic control, the military, commercial pilots, and possibly astronauts.
  • Take trips to Burke Lakefront Airport, Lorain County Airport, and an Aviation Museum.

 Except for the last Friday of every month. Field trips 3:15 PM – 5:30 PM

BOATBUILDING:

  • In weekly sessions you will learn by doing, using your hands.
  • You will learn the skills needed to build, maintain and safely operate a boat.
  • You will use common hand tools to do basic woodworking, fiberglassing, and painting.
  • You will be introduced to other boating skills such as basic seamanship, chart reading, and outboard motor maintenance.

DRONES:

  • Zip, Swoop, Flip, and Flypast obstacles, through hoops, and around a race track as you fly drones at the Drone Club.
  • Learn the basics of drone operation and safety to advanced skills such as navigation and flight planning.
  • Drone Club offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience flying drones in a fun and engaging environment.

FAB LAB:

Become a Fab Lab Assistant!  

  • Learn the ins and outs of every aspect of the Fabrication Lab.
  • Get advanced training in machine operation and maintenance.
  • Help with special hands-on projects and learn how these skills apply outside of the Davis Fab Lab.  Support other students, teachers, and community members as they work on their own Fab Lab projects.

ROBOTICS:

  •  It’s way more than building robots. FIRST Tech Challenge teams are challenged to design, build, program, and operate robots to compete in a head-to-head challenge in an alliance format.
  • You will develop STEM skills and practice engineering principles while realizing the value of hard work, innovation, and working as a team
